It is a new week. Thank Goodness!!!. Took the girls to climb Pinnacle yesterday to keep my mind off of what I was missing in New Orleans. It was great we walked the base trail and then climbed the Mountain.
Tapp is afraid of all things high and fast but she loves to go up that mountain. If her sister had not been along I think we would have climbed it in half the time. That is not a shot at Wesley. It is just a point of Tapp's excitement.
Wesley is 5 and it was her first trip to the top. She handled it like a pro. When we got to the top she wanted to go look at everything. She got a look at the Little Rock skyline and asked if it was New York City. She will be the family member with 1,000,000 frequent flyer miles some day.
Not once did either of them complain. That 5 mile hike was big for them. Crowd was massive. It made the up and down a little tricky. Wesley's fearless attitude created some hairraising moments. She was never in danger but she frazzled my nerves a time or two.
Big training starts now. 5 weeks until the next race and 4.5 months until big one. I am excited to dig in. Coach Hillary has a consistent week that is building in time and distance. The training is my friend these days.
Today says day off but there was no race yesterday. As a result I will hit the bike for an easy ride. I missed most of last weeks workouts so I am going to find a rhythm. We have nothing but soccer this weekend so it will be great training.
ABC board meeting on Wednesday means I will be taking lots of aggression out on the swim and treadmill that night.
Now that baseball is here, I have been looking foward to training while listening to the Red Sox games. The way they are playing does nothing for motiviation and inspiration. Even the Cubs and Pirates have better records. That ain't no Wicked Pisssah!!
So much for a rambling.
Langley Out!!!
