It is a step up week!!!. After an easy flat 70 miles, Coach Biscuit decided to put me back to work. New distances swimming. More hills for riding. At this rate, the Ironman might be a daily cruise. The greatest thing about this program is the consistency it provides in the week. Even the big gear workout on Tuesday is tolerable. Don't tell coach!! She will up the ante on that too.
New Ironman race on tap for this weekend. Ironman St. George in Utah. Water temperature at the beginning of the week was 55 degrees. For not familiar, that is so cold that warmth is a long way off. The racers will spend the first hour of the ride getting feeling back in their arms and legs. On top of that there are two huge climbs in the race. The gain is 2x's that of Louisville. It is one to watch someday.
Work puts me in Fayetteville at the end of the week again. Great place to run. Have to find somewhere to swim. Maybe my little sister can get me into the pool at the University. I am pretty sure she has no idea where it is.
Rob Lyle tried as hard as he could to finish his simulated 70.3. He put his heart into it. That is awesome. This endeavour for us as athletes will be great but the return to the Jackson Graves Foundation will be even more. Every day someone asks me about the training. The follow up question is always about the fundraising. That interest and support is great motivation.
Langley Out!!!
